They didn't really drop in position for totals if I remember his list from last week correctly, I think it just depends on how the person places the teams (either by total points or by average rating). According the list on va preps Lee is first in Region D Div.2 in average rating (20.00) but again, near the bottom in total.

yea but ifr clintwood wins and then they beat appalachia the last game and they beat wise next week then doesnt that mean norton will maybe be the 4th seed based on points?

    Re: Updated standings & ratings

PV moved up because Kelly & Va. High lost, and they picked up more bonus points than Lebanon & Lee.

Glory_Days - Lee didn't move any on my list, there's still 2 teams below them. You prob. saw the list based on avg., which had Lee 1st, I believe. I don't fool with averages - they're not worth it. Two weeks from now, if your team is 1.58 points out of 4th, that doesn't mean as much as knowing that you're 11 points out of 4th (in my eyes, anyway). Lee's avg. is higher because they've played 1 less game than everyone else.

It's still a bit early to get into "what if". It would take a lot more than what you've got there, 32, for JIB to drop to 4th.

A district champ is still guaranteed a playoff spot. But the seeding depends on their rating. You won't have a district chap with a lower rating than another team have a higer seed than that team. But they still get in.

    Re: Updated standings & ratings

Here's what I'm talking about - right now, Richlands has an avg. of 23 (7 games) and Graham has 20.375 (8 games).
Let's say the season were to end next weekend. Graham is done, but Richlands plays Bluefield.
According to the msg. boards, the Blues will lose.
Now, tell me what chance Graham has of being the #1 seed?
Can't tell by looking at the averages, but I can tell by looking at the totals.
Graham has 163, Richlands has 161.
Bluefield already has 5 wins and is worth 8 points as AA, so the Blues willL "pass" Graham for the #1 seed, even if they were to lose.

Exactly...all I was saying is any district champ is guaranteed a playoff spot...but not a certain seed.

    Re: Updated standings & ratings

Realistically what will the playoffs look like if Hoanker wins the BDD and if they dont? Asking a lot I know but I'd like to see 4 breakdowns, PV wins out and Honaker wins, PV loses to GC and Honaker wins, PV wins and Honaker loses, PV loses and Honaker loses.

    Re: Updated standings & ratings

If Honaker wins, they and the CMD winner is guaranteed a spot. Then the highest 2 in power points get in. However that shakes out who knows. Appy is sitting at 2nd in the D1 ratings as well.
